SELF-TRUST: Got any?
Probably not as much as you might think...

Monday June 11, 2018 7-9PM $20.

I have to ask. How much do you trust yourself? Not to do what's expected or do what others have told you is right, but that inner urge that if you followed it others would accuse you of being selfish? Most of us usually don’t follow our inner urges. Here’s why...

In childhood our parents told us what to do, what to think and what we should want to become. Do you remember them ever asking you what you felt? Thought? Wanted? Probably not. We grew up with their script telling us who and what we should be. These “tapes” replay in our mind, every day, over and over guiding our choices in how we deal with the world. Do you feel ignored? Unappreciated? Undervalued? You're not alone...

Here’s the scoop. Our culture is not interested in who we are, what we feel or what we want. We’ve been taught at every turn that the value we live our lives by comes from outside of ourselves. You’re only valued by what you can provide for others. Does it feel good living your life according to what others want or expect from you?

No one has ever become great or accomplished anything earth changing by just following the rules. Do you want to do great things and be creative? Of course, you do. The only way you’ll ever do that is by following your own heart…not by doing what the world tells you is right and proper for you. It’s time to Reclaim the Power of Your Self-Trust.

Energizing Self-Trust assists us in forming alternate paths revitalizing our most secret desires and ambitions without the fear of undeserved shame, inhibition or distracting social obligations. Energizing Self-Trust enhances our confidence through using a series of simple steps utilizing self-observations and making small changes in how we present ourselves to the world. Regaining the Self-Trust and confidence lost in our childhood will then become easy through using these simple steps that replace undesirable and inertia bound emotional patterns with new experiences and new self-assessments that will make our motivation come alive with a new feeling of freedom and consistency. How is it that we have lost Self-Trust and confidence? Read on...

In our Western culture, we become dysfunctional families through being raised within a maze of undercurrents and adages used to keep us in a role of performing the self-diminishing behaviors that are needed to cover for our parents unconsciously believed inadequacies. From adolescence on we then move into the world attracting relationships that repeat and even seek out the same self-devaluing rapport we had with difficult parents and guardians growing up. This has a devastating effect on our present and future ability to participate honestly in new relationships let alone to gather enough energy and consistency in our motivation to pursue what our hearts might have been inspired to be and do.

In class we will begin with introductions, what we hope to gain from the group and then move through an assessment and a series of questions designed to determine what our life goals are and if our current methods for motivating ourselves are working. Group conversation will initially discuss our perceptions about each of our approaches toward our goals and discuss options and/or alternate approaches to achieve our aims. Then, we will begin the seven-step process toward regaining our confidence and Self-Trust. All work done in the group will be held in the strictest confidence.
